Microsoft recently announced apps in Copilot Cowork, a new way to turn an idea into a working business app through conversation, publish it to a managed environment, and govern it from the Microsoft 365 admin center. In this video, David Lorenzo, Andreas Adner and I go through the announcement and then test it hands-on.

We begin with the announcement and the Microsoft Learn documentation, the Managed Apps start page, and the GitHub repo that ships the agent skills and plugin. From there we build a demo app from a local project in Claude Code using the Microsoft Managed Apps plugin and the CLI, and once the app package is ready we publish it to a hosted managed environment through Cowork. We also spend some time on licensing and how Copilot credits apply.

The second half of the video is about the admin side. I show how apps created in Cowork appear in the Microsoft 365 admin center, how environment routing works for them, how sharing is controlled, and how connector policies are enforced, along with the other settings admins get out of the box.
