Using a Snowflake-Managed MCP Server with Copilot Studio

We created a hands-on walkthrough that shows how Microsoft Copilot Studio can work with Snowflake using Snowflake-managed MCP servers. This integration was not previously possible due to protocol differences, and in this content we explain how that gap has now been resolved.

Working together with Maciek Jarka, we walk through the high-level architecture and show how Copilot Studio can establish bi-directional communication with Snowflake. The result is a clean, direct connection where Copilot Studio agents can call Snowflake tools and generate insights through a conversational experience—without custom middleware.

This content is designed to help Copilot Studio makers and architects understand when MCP is the right approach, how to implement it correctly, and how to apply the pattern in real enterprise scenarios involving Snowflake data.
